Funky Homestyle Changes to Modernise your Home

As I stare at the various aspects of my home I have come to realize that comfort and style is hugely important. The truth is, when your home doesn’t feel amazing it’s hard to feel completely content in the place you’re living in. Over the years I have grown to understand my own likes, dislikes and personal style.

When I was designing a bedroom for my grandchildren I took delight in choosing a range of patterns, furniture and accessories to truly make them feel at home. Now that I have made them a comfy and cosy nest, it’s time to start focusing on the areas I really want to improve. From the bedroom to the garden, I know there is so much creative fun to be had this year. For me the start of a new year symbolizes a fresh start, so what better time to recreate some modern styles in my awesome abode?

Fabulous Furniture

The furniture in my home can truly make or break then entire ambiance. If there is a broke table or a tattered chair in the corner it can completely ruin the style I was going for. Recently I have been looking into high quality leather sofas to suit the decor in my living room. Having a comfortable, statement piece like this will really help to bring my living space back to life again.

Blissful Bedroom

My bedroom is the place I go to when I need to relax and unwind from a busy day looking after the grandkids. Their never ending energy amazes me, but unfortunately a good night’s sleep is all I need sometimes. Having a comfortable bed with a dreamy atmosphere is what every busy parent and grandparent deserves in their home. To me, good quality bedding, a beautifully scented candle and a neutral colour scheme are the most important things in my bedroom.

Savvy Study

When I’m writing my blog I am always looking for a more high tech, smart area to get my work done. Working from home is becoming more and more common in the modern day, so I might think about creating a new office space in my home. A sturdy desk, a few pieces of artwork and a calming atmosphere is all that I’ll need to get creative on a daily basis.

Glorious Garden

There are so many ways to spruce up your garden, even if you are on a tight budget. Having some beautiful decking installed is at the top of my priority list for the summer. I have always wanted to plant an herb garden too so that my cooking always tastes extra fresh!

So by adopting some of these methods I will no longer feel the need to tweak and alter the various rooms in my home. It will soon feel like the cosy, cute dwelling I have always wanted, rather than feeling like a slightly tired and worn home. I’m going to get started with some of these wonderful ideas as we speak, because there is no time like the presence to make a positive change to your happy home.
